Youth Programs

  • Scholarships. With the assistance of Basin electric Power Cooperative, Tri-State G&T, and unclaimed Capital Credits, NEA currently gives four $1000 scholarships and four $500 scholarships to the dependents of member/consumers.

  • Safety Demonstrations. Using a demonstration board built by Line Foreman, Dave Leimser, NEA will perform safety demonstrations to any group who asks. All of the schools in the counties NEA serves, as well as groups such as the volunteer fire department, have seen the demonstration.

  • On The Job Training. NEA offers local youth an opportunity to receive practical work experience by providing on the job training programs each semester and summer for office workers, and each summer for outside workers.

  • Tours. With the help of Tri-State G&T and Basin Electric, NEA offers tours for any group who asks to the Laramie River Power Station or the Dry Fork Coal Mine.

  • Youth Energy Camp. Each summer NEA sponsors two campers to attend the youth energy camp at Halsey, NE.

  • 4-H Contributor. Each year NEA contributes to the 4-H programs in the area.
